Welcome to my blog! This will be my first attempt at an official blog, even though I have used similar formats in the past to communicate upcoming assignments and events with both my students and their parents. I am looking forward to creating a professional blog that can demonstrate my continual growth and development as a teacher, as well as my interest in learning new technologies that can assist both my learning, as well as the education of my students.
Professionally, I am in my fourth year of teaching. My focus is French immersion education with middle years students, as well as Social Justice awareness. I am pursuing a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction because of my desire to continue to grow and learn as a professional. I want to know more about the development of curriculum so I can have more of an impact in the future on my profession. Through this Master's program, I hope to gain insight into new and emerging instruction techniques that can enhance my classroom and instructional techniques.
Repeatedly, I will admit, social media and technology are not my forte. I struggle to keep up with all the constant improvements, changes, and growths in the field, and when I try to manage these obstacles, I immediately become overwhelmed with options and information. My hope is not to understand all the available options out there, but simply to begin with a few as a starting point. This blog will be the first official starting point, from which I hope rich conversations, resources, and information will grow.
Join me on my journey of continual learning and development as an educator in the 21st century!
